Who am I?

Well as you will have gathered by now my name is Simon Hawkins and I was born on 5 February 1956. I have a very entertaining past which I am reserving for my memoirs if I live long enough to get them published.

My current life has been formed by the events of the past 8 years during which I have, in no particular order:

  • been mis-sold an interest rate swap by HBOS (now Lloyds) which bankrupted me
  • been diagnosed, with terminal cancer
  • had a pioneering operation which removed numerous internal organs
  • survived neutropenic sepsis against impossible odds
  • written a novel
  • got married

and much more.

I am in the process of re-building this website so I would ask you to bear with me whilst I get it done. Everything takes longer these days due to infirmity and my age. I intend to write a number of blogs over the coming month to bring my life up to date and then aim to keep it current.

Finally I would just like to welcome you to my humble domain!
